Immunological characteristics of anti-PrP McAbs.

In recent years,a series of anti-PrP monoclonal antibodies(McAbs) had been developed in our lab.In this research,9 McAbs immuno-reactivities with PrP were tested in ELISA,Western blotting and immunohistochemistry(IHC) assay.The results indicated that 5 McAbs could be used for the detection of BSE and Scrapie in Western blotting and ELISA,and 3 McAbs could be used for the detection of BSE and Scrapie in IHC assay.1 McAb only recognized the core part of PrPSc from sheep in Western blotting,and its epitope was located in 78-93aa of PrP.Therefore,it could differentiate the proteinase K cleavage site of PrPSc from BSE and Scrapie.
