The invention relates to an arrangement and a method for positioning a component in a computed tomography examination room. The assembly includes a medical device and a positioning device, - wherein the positioning device comprises a telescopic tube for moving at least one component along a first path, - wherein said first path is substantially parallel to an extraction direction of the telescopic tube, - said telescopic pipe having a window substantially incident light rays can penetrate into an inner region of the telescopic tube parallel to the extraction direction of the telescopic tube through, and - wherein the positioning device comprises an image pickup device for detecting through the window into the inner portion of the telescopic tube penetrating light beams.
