Neurocisticercosis: un caso de hidrocefalia

2019
Cysticercosis is a clinical entity caused by the parasite Taenia solium. Its incidence is related to the socio-sanitary conditions of each country, so that it is endemic to sub-Saharan Africa, Central and South America (especially the neurological form of the disease) and Southeast Asia. In the western world it has a low prevalence, being increasingly important due to the increase in the immigrant population that comes from endemic areas and tourist trips. We present a case of a 35-year-old woman from Ecuador, whose father had recently died of neurocysticercosis.
