Research on the counter-force calibration method of tablet hardness tester

Abstract The tablet hardness tester is mainly a measuring instrument for testing the hardness and diameter of the tablet. Because the force sensor of the hardness tester is built in the compacting medicine box with small space, it is not easy to calibrate with weights. This paper proposes to use a special static standard dynamometer with a counterforce loading mechanism to directly measure the hardness value of the tablet hardness tester, and conduct a lot of comparison experiments with the method of measuring with weights. The experimental results show that the calibration method of superimposing the standard dynamometer directly with the force surface in the working area of the hardness tester is simple and feasible, and meets the requirement of traceability.
