This work presents an overview of school evaluation and assessment approaches in the light of OECD Framework (2012) to provide a comprehensive understanding and critically, compare those approaches in Ireland and Brazil. It presents some strengths and weakness from both countries and analyses the policies and practices developed to ensure quality education systems, improve schools ‘capacity to raise performance and deliver quality education for all students.
