HPLC quantitative analysis of biflavones in Ginkgo biloba leaf extracts and their identification by thermospray liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry

1996
A reversed-phase HPLC method was developed for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of biflavones (amentoflavone, bilobetin, sequojaflavone, ginkgetin, isoginkgetin, sciadopitysin) in G. biloba purified extracts. Ginkgetin was used as an external standard for the quantitation of the six biflavones. Identification of the main biflavone constituents of G. biloba leaves was also performed by HPLC-MS using the thermospray (TS) interface.
