Aortic surgery: do pre-operative cardioselective β-blockers improve clinical outcome?

2002
In spite of the apparent decrease in post-operative complications and 30 day mortality in the pre-operative β-blocker group, statistics were not supportive of the same; p< 0.4 for the 30 day mortality with confidence interval 95% (−0.439 −0.154). A controlled study with a larger sample is recommended.
