전자기기 냉각을 위한 소형 진동형 히트파이프의 성능특성

2013
An experimental study was performed to investigate the thermal characteristics of micro pulsating heat pipes (MPHPs), by varying hydraulic diameter and number of turns. Experiments were performed under different working fluids (DI water, FC-72), filling ratios, and orientation angles. The result showed the thermal performance of MPHPs depended greatly on the type of working fluid, filling ratio and orientation angle. At a smaller hydraulic diameter, the MPHP charged with FC-72 showed better overall thermal performance than that charged with DI water with the optimal filling ratio of 50% for all working fluids. When the MPHPs with the horizontal orientation, the thermal performance decreased, indicating that the gravity effect was important parameter in the MPHPs. The application possibility of an embedded MPHP as a heat spreader was confirmed, so as to provide higher overall thermal conductance to the hot spot.
