Transport Phenomena during the Fast Filling Process in a Hydrogen Tank for the Fuel Cell Vehicle
2012
In order to investigate the thermal behavior and the transport phenomena during fast hydrogen filling process in a fuel car system, a three-dimensional numerical simulation dealing with inner gas region was carried out. Two different wall boundary conditions of temperature, namely adiabatic wall and constant heat flux conditions, were assessed. The numerical analyses were subject to the fast filling test of 35 MPa hydrogen gas into 34 litter tank for 80 seconds. By comparing numerical results under two different boundary conditions of temperature field, it was found that the heat loss through the tank wall played an important role in temperature increase. Furthermore, the relation between the internal convection and the thermal behavior was discussed.
