Multilevel Inverter: An Approach with Reduced Number of Semiconductor Devices

2016
In this time, Multilevel Inverter (MLI) innovations turn into an unimaginably primary decision in high power medium voltage energy control range. Despite the fact that multilevel inverter has various advantages but since of utilizing more number of semiconductor switches, it has disadvantages in the vein of high level, extensive size and high cost. To defeat this issue another multilevel inverter is proposed with four DC sources. This inverter can produce both odd and even levels. The proposed topology is appropriate for high power applications and for symmetric structure. The proposed symmetric inverter results in decrease of power switches, power diode and gate driver circuits furthermore it might minimize the installation area and cost. This symmetric multilevel inverter produces nine levels and results are approved through the harmonic spectrum of the FFT window by utilizing MATLAB Simulink.
