The Study on the Synthesis of Allyl D-tartrate

Allyl D-tartrate was prepared by refluxing D-tartrate and allyl alcohol.The parameters of the esterification that forms allyl D-tartrate,such as the effect of the mole ratio of D-tartrate and allyl alcohol,the content of p-toluenesulfonic acid,the reaction temperature and time on yield of allyl D-tartrate were investigated.The optimum conditions were the mole ratio of D-tartrate and allyl alcohol 1.0:2.5 with 1.0% p-methy benzene sulfonic acid and 1.0% hydroquinone at 80 ℃ for 8 h.The yield of product reached more than 96.6%,and its structure was characterized by FTIR.
