Study of Flexural and Shear Strains in Twisting of Complex Chemical Fibres

2002
The relations for shear and flexural strain were obtained for each filament (Fil) comprising twisted CF as a function of the ply in which the Fil is positioned in the section of the CF and the twist. Fil from an arbitrary section of twisted CF make a different contribution to the specific properties of textured fibre — bulk, fluffiness, elasticity, stability, crimp. Fil over the plies of twisted CF having the highest flexural strain make the greatest contribution; the contribution of axial Fil is zero, since its flexure is equal to zero, and the maximum shear cannot alter the shape of this fibre.
