The changes occurred in the
contemporary world affect all spheres
of individual and collective life
in a given society, characterized
by complex mutations tend to
create uncertainty about norms,
customs, values and processes.
These emergencies pose challenges
and require new proposals in the
training of actors who have to produce
changes to improve life on the
planet. In this context, particularly
the teaching of history, like any
educational phenomenon is inherent
to the construction of meanings and
representations about a particular
socio-historical reality. This research
refers to the social purposes of that
discipline, from an ethical and civic
perspective present in the historical
discourse of education.
