Electrical conductivity study on Na3PO4–Pb3(PO4)2–BiPO4 phosphate glasses

2001
Electrical properties of 0.23Na2O–0.23PbO–0.31Bi2O3–0.23P2O5, a glass composition of the Na3PO4–Pb3(PO4)2–BiPO4 system whose glass transition (Tg=377°C), have been studied in the temperature range 25–500°C and as a function of frequency between 1 Hz and 1 MHz. It is found that the compound undergoes a electrical relaxation with an activation energy of 1.26 eV order. The discussed results indicate a relatively strong binding of sodium ions to the glass network.
