H. pylori eradication

1994
Helicobacter pylori-associated gastroduodenal inflammation is now considered to be the dominant factor in H. pylori-associated gastroduodenal ulcer formation. Healing the gastroduodenal mucosa through H. pylori eradication leads to a dramatic reduction in gastroduodenal ulcer relapse. Eradication of H. pylori proves to be exceptionally difficult. Although the organism is sensitive to many antibiotics in vitro, the in-vivo eradicating efficacy is often disappointing.
