Research on cavitation noise numerical prediction of hydrofoil

With NACA0015 hydrofoil as the research objective,Schnerr-Sauer hydrofoil model and Ffowes-Wiliams Hawkings acoustic models are adopted to calculate the two-dimensional hydrofoil cavitation noises and to analyze the performances of hydrofoil cavitation process and hydrofoil cavitation noises.The research results indicate that hydrofoil cavitation process appears to have obvious pulsation and periodicity,and that the period of cavitation cloud falling off is 0.1704 s.The reverse jet induced by the vortex near the wall of hydrofoil is the major cause of cavitation inception and falling off.The transmission direction of noise in the head of hydrofoil is the same with the main flow direction,and backward transmission does not happen.In the process of cavitation development,the noise signal of cavitation region has the tendency of adding to downstream,but when the noise signal spreads to the hydrofoil tail for region,it has gradually attenuated.
