Shape- and size controlled synthesis of CdCO3 in situ-doped-Er3+

Abstract The growth of CdCO 3 doped Er 3+ thin films by chemical bath is presented. The morphological changes of the layers affect the morphology and size showing a variety of cubic crystals. X-Ray Diffraction spectra of CdCO 3 sample displayed peaks which have rhombohedral crystalline structure. CdCO 3 Er20 sample exhibits representative reflections for the monoclinic phase ErOOH but for CdCO 3 Er15 sample a pure cubic phase Er 2 O 3 structure is observed. CdCO 3 Er20 sample exhibits representative reflections for the monoclinic phase ErOOH, CdCO 3 Er15 and a pure cubic-phase Er 2 O 3 structure. FTIR spectra show the peaks around 1400, 850, and 718 cm −1 are characteristic vibration bands of CO 3 2 − .
