Chemical constituents of Rodgersia sambucifolia Hemsl

Two new lignan diglycosides, hypophyllanthin-2a-O-β-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-O-β-glucopyranoside 1 and 8-methoxyhypophy-2a-O-β-apiofuranosyl-(1→6)-O-β-glucopyranoside 2, together with six known compounds, 5-(3-methylbutyl)-8-methoxy funanocumarin 3, 1-acetoxyl-2e-piperonyl-6e-[6-methoxylpiperonyl]-3,7-dioxabicyclo-[3.3.0]-octane 4, β-rosasterol 5, muxiangine III 6, nirtetralin, 7,7-methoxybergenin 8, have been isolated from the ethanol extract of the roots a Rodgersia sambucifolia Hemsl. Their structures have been established on the basis of then spectral data and chemical studies.
