Estrategias de comunicación para fomentar un adecuado uso de agua en Chiquinquirá

2018
The city of Chiquinquira, located to the west of the department of Boyaca Colombia, experiences an accentuated problem, not only due to the lack of water due to the loss of flow of the Fuquene lagoon where the Suarez river is born - the only source that supplies the water for human consumption, but because of the high pollution it receives along its route. The use of such water for consumption necessitates high-cost treatments that are reflected in the respective charges to users; However, in many cases water is wasted, a situation that is probably dependent on the absence of mechanisms that promote among the community the importance of making conscious and responsible use of it. In addition, strategic communication is omitted as a fundamental mechanism that contributes to mitigate the problem, and the local community is not assertively linked to a culture of care and saving of this vital resource. Problems against which it was sought to establish the particularities of the situation from the perspective of the community settled there, as well as to recognize from their criteria and that of the regulatory bodies, the strategies that have been implemented for the promotion of adequate and responsible use of the water. Based on the diagnosis made, the Communication's own practices for social change are proposed as a positive change strategy with citizen participation, with a view to a change in culture about the practices of water use that is supplied through the local aqueduct.
