Numerical and experimental analysis of the external response of an airliner to a wide frequency range electromagnetic perturbation

1992
Recent technological developments have resulted in an increased interest in the interaction of electromagnetic perturbations with aircraft. The authors theoretically predict, on a wide frequency range, the response of an airliner in flight, and then develop simulation facilities which allow one to obtain, on the ground, results representing the behaviour of the aircraft in flight. First the numerical resolution and the analysis of the frequency response of the plane in flight is carried out for an electromagnetic perturbation. The method used is FDTD analysis. Once these responses are determined and analysed, numerical results are compared with experimental measurements obtained using current injection on the plane. >
