Effect of oral isotretinoin treatment on skin androgen receptors and HLA-DR expression in acneic patients

The aim of the study was immunohistochemical analysis of HLA-DR and androgen receptors (AR) in 40 skin biopsies before and after a six-month isotretinoin treatment. Significant decrease in HLA-DR expression and non-significant AR decrease after treatment were found. We described that the effect of isotretinoin is associated with reduced HLA-DR expression.
