DETERMINISTIC MATHEMATICAL MODEL OF DENGUE DISEASE SPREAD

2015
In this paper, a mathematical model is formulated to simulate the dynamics of dengue disease spread and to investigate the effect of Toxorhynchites mosquitoes as biocontrol strategy to reduce dengue disease propagation. The human populations were portioned out into three different compartments of the susceptible, infected, and recovered humans. Whereas the mosquito’s populations were portioned out into three classes of the aquatic stage, susceptible, and infected mosquitoes. Stability analysis of the equilibrium points was carried out. Numerical simulations results revealed that applying Toxorhynchites splendens larvae as biological control measure can effectively reduce the dengue spread in the community.
