The Regulation of Differentiation on Oligodendrocyte Precursor Cells

2012
In the CNS,oligodendrocytes are responsible for the formation of myelin that surrounds axons. In recent years, oligodendrocyte precursor cells(OPCs) have gained much attention for their potential of self-renew,differentiation,and remyelination of the CNS.The molecular mechanisms controlling OPCs differentiation during development, including oligodendroglial cytoskeleton, transcription, spatiotemporal regulation and axonal inhibition were reviewed.
