Asociación de características sociodemográficas y nivel de kinesiofobia en el adulto mayor con dolor lumbar inespecífico, cañete, Lima – Perú, 2019

Objective: To determine the relationship between sociodemographic characteristics and the level of kinesiophobia in elderly patients with non-specific chronic low back pain in Canete, Lima - Peru 2019. Method: quantitative approach, analytical type, cross-sectional design. The sample was 210 older adults with nonspecific chronic low back pain. The level of kinesiophobia was measured through the Tampa Scale Questionnaire for Kinesophobia. Results: According to the sociodemographic characteristics: sex 64.8% women, 35.2% men, age: 71.35 ± 6.21; 47.6% correspond to subjects from 65 to 70 years, 27.6% to subjects from 71 to 75 years and 24.8% from 76 to 80 years, according to their occupation: 65.2% have a sedentary profile and 34.8% perform some physical activity; regarding the level of kinesiophobia: 73.3% was high and 26.7 low. The bivariate analysis to associate the level of kinesiophobia and sex according to the chi-square test, the p-value is> 0.05. For the level of kinesiophobia and age, the p-value of the test is 0.05; In the multivariate analysis of suffering from high kinesiophobia, both the age group of 76 to 80 years old were found, which has an adjusted Odds Ratio (OR) of 2.99 (p 0.05). Conclusions: A relationship was found between the level of kinesiophobia with age and occupation; however, no statistically significant relationship was found between kinesiophobia and sex.
