Megabalanein A, a Novel Cadmium-Inducible Peptide from the Barnacle, Megabalanus volcano

Abstract A novel cadmium-inducible peptide, megabalanein A (CdIP 1), was purified from the barnacle, Megabalanus volcano . This peptide is composed of 15 amino acids, five of which are acidic residues. Megabalanein A may be the smallest metal-inducible peptide that has been found in vertebrates and invertebrates.
