Crystal-structure of (+)-3,3-dibenzyl Bornane-2-one and Circular-dichroism of 3,3-dialkyl Bornane-2-one Derivatives

C24H28O is tetragonal, space group P4(1) with a = b = 11.639(1) angstrom, c = 14.244(2) angstrom, V = 1929.5(1) angstrom 3, Z = 4, D(c) = 1.144 Mg m-3, F(000) = 720, M(r) = 332.49, mu = 0.524 mm-1, lambda(CuK-alpha) = 1.5418 angstrom, T = 293 K. The final R is 0.082 (wR = 0.073) for 1106 observed reflections. The results of the structure determination agree with the circular dichroism analysis through the octant rule. Besides, circular dichroism and configuration of 3,3-dibenzyl bornane-2-one and of others 3,3-dialkyl bornane-2-one derivatives are also discussed.
