Análise comparativa das diferentes ferramentas de estratificação de risco cardiovascular: revisão narrativa

2021
Objective: To compare different cardiovascular risk scores and their applicability in the brazilian population. Bibliographic review: Cardiovascular diseases have a high impact on morbidity and mortality in Brazil, being determined by modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors. These, together, contribute to cardiovascular risk, which is the focus of primary prevention, directed from tools that allow the calculation and stratification of risk, aiming to define therapeutic goals and optimize care, thus reducing the chances of evolution with unfavorable outcomes. However, stratification is still very underused in the country. The most widespread calculator in Brazil is the Framingham score and recently the Pan American Health Organization launched a new tool called HEARTS, which has generated great expectations about its adoption by Primary Care in Brazil. Final considerations: Taking into account the effectiveness of stratification in reducing risk, it is necessary to increase the adherence of professionals to calculators and facilitate access to them. Thus, it will be possible to improve patient care and reduce unfavorable cardiovascular outcomes.
