In order to study structuring element in comprehensive evaluation of spatio-temporal data models, Through the analysis on the characteristics of the spatio-temporal data models, this study presents a qualitative evaluation table for some key attributes of data models, such as their STGIS functionality and their adoptability to popular GIS software. Furthermore, the study evaluates the data models using fuzzy structuring element. The result ranks the data models as follows: the best model is the base state with amendments model; the second is the space-time composite model; the third is the snapshots model and the last one is the space-time cube model.
