Electrical transmission characterization of IPD microstrips up to 30GHz

Based on the Silicon-based IPD(Integrated Passive Device) technology, an experiment on IPD microstrips is presented. Some metal materials which are used in semiconductor press are applied in IPD microstrips and the microstrips are optimized for 50Ω impedance matching for better signal transmission. The experiment is carried by HFSS simulated software for transmission status from DC-30GHz and the reason for transmission loss is analysed. In this experiment, theory evidences on choosing Silicon-based IPD microstrips are presented.
