Nuclear-pumped lasers: problems and perspectives

The review is devoted to the condition of researches on lasers pumped by nuclear reactors. In the review the brief description of NPL experiments is given, the parameters of perspective laser media and short explanation of processes taking place in gas NPL are also given. Possible schemes of NPL's, LAEL's and concepts of RL's are under consideration.
