An electric appliance area (10) and a water inlet area (12) are arranged on the lateral surface of the tank body (1), the protective cover (2) is in a shape of a frustum of a pyramid, the frustum of a pyramid is provided with a high center and a low periphery, a square water drinking portion (2-1) is formed in the center of the protective cover (2) which is lower than the lowest position of the center of the protective cover (2) to form a center low-lying position (2-5), and a sealing strip is arranged at the matching position of the inside of the protective cover (2) and the top surface (11). The diameter of the floating ball (3) is larger than that of a round hole in a water drinking portion (2-1), and the outer side of a floating ball valve (6) is connected with a water inlet (7) connected with a water inlet pipe (13) in the water inlet area (12). A plurality of waterproof and leakproof mechanisms are arranged on the heat preservation energy-saving waterer, therefore, electric leakage accidents caused by water leakage are avoided, and degree of safety when livestock drink water is increased.
