Development of composite die for automotive shaft cup

The manufacturability of a composite stamping die with four working procedures of blanking,drawing,punching and flanging was analyzed.The forming of an automotive shaft cup needs just one stamping die instead of four sets of dies.The idea of structural design and assembly technique was stated.The die can finish four operations other than conventional three operations.The calculation method of structural parameters of the composite die was proposed.
