Mower and protective cover therefor

A mower is provided with a rotating cutting blade and a protective cover which partially covers the cutting blade. The protective cover is provided with a body section and an expansion section which can be removably attached to the body section. A claw section is formed on one of the body section and the expansion section, and an engagement hole is formed in the other, the engagement hole allowing the claw section to be engaged therewith from the inner side and exposing the engaged claw section. The opening of the engagement hole has a shape which permits the entry of a tool thereinto and prohibits the entry of a finger thereinto. As a result, a tool is not required to attach the expansion section but is required to remove the expansion section.
