Ultrasonic Technology in Extraction of Traditional Chinese Medicine

The basic principles and application of ultrasonic technology in the active substances extraction from Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) were reviewed.The ultrasonic properties such as frequency,strength,action time and the ratio of the action"on to off"were discussed,which had different influence to the extraction of components.By comparison,active substances extraction by ultrasonic technology from TCM had the advantages of high rate of extraction,fast,easy operation and so on.The problems of ultrasonic extraction should be paid attention to were also discussed.
