Dynamics of the nuclear disassembly

1993
The various modes put forward to explain the nucleus disintegration (liquid-gas transition, statistical evaporation, surface instabilities, spinodal decomposition ...) rely on various assumptions about the initial conditions of the system and the time scales for the different processes: all quantities which can be only provided by dynamical models. The semi-classical transport equations have been successfully used to describe the average dynamics of heavy-ion collisions; we discuss how they can be extended to treat the fluctuations and what are their limitations. Conclusions will be given about the possibility to observe spinodal decomposition in heavy ion reactions .
