A Study on the Fuel Behavior Characteristics Injected in the Intake Pulsating Air Flow

1999
Since the fuel behavior injected in the intake manifold of MPI gasoline engine is effected by pulsating air flow, the fluctuated air flow generator that can simulates the air flow in an actual engine is designed and produced. Using these apparatus, fuel behavior characteristics injected in the pulsating air flow in an intake manifold under various injection timing and injection duration are measured by the hot-wire anemometer and PMAS. From these experiments, fuel injection conditions such as injection timing, injection duration and spray pattern injected from MPI injector are made clear. The goal of this research would be to give a design guide for optimal fuel injection system.
