DIFFERENTIAL THERMAL ANALYSIS OF SOME YTTRIUM AND LANTHANON COMPOUNDS

The oxides of Y, La, Nd, 8m, Gd, Dy, and Er and the oxalates of Y, La, Nd, Sm, and Gd were subjected to differential thermal analysis from room temperature to 1100 deg C. Phase changes in the oxides were difficult to detect because of the sluggishness of the conversions involved. Characteristic curves for decomposition of the oxalates were determined and compared with thermogravimetric data. (auth)
