An electrically controlled method of reducing sulfur removal of heavy metal ions in wastewater

2016
The present invention belongs to the technical field of water treatment, in particular a single electrochemically active elemental sulfur in the wastewater is reduced and the processing method of heavy metal ions in waste water of reaction. The method uses a porous carbon material coated sulfur-coated as working electrode, the working electrode contact on the conductive substrate and the wastewater containing heavy metals, elemental sulfur is reduced to generate a negative valence of sulfur in the electrochemical action, negative valence sulfur form stable compounds with heavy metal ions, to achieve the removal of heavy metal ions in waste water. Simple electrochemical method, without the addition of any oxidizing agent, flocculant chemicals, does not produce any harmful factors, may be processed to PPb level. The process steps of the present invention is simple, easy to operate, has a good prospect in the direction of heavy metals in water treatment.
