Synthesis, structures, spectroscopies and properties studies of two organotin (IV) carboxylates with 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid

2022
Abstract The complexes [(Ph3Sn)2L(ONC3H7)2] 1, [(Cy3Sn)2L] 2 were synthesized using 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (H2L) and R3SnOH (R = Ph, Cy) in 1:2 ratio. The crystal structures of complex 1 and 2 were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, the 1D chains of 1 are further linked into a 2D layered structure through hydrogen bonds in 1. The crystal structure of 2 contains two independent subunits. The Hirshfeld surface analysis manifested they have C–H•••O hydrogen bond. Fluorescent properties shown the emission peaks at 452 (1) and 412 (2) nm, the fluorescence may be caused by the electron transition inside ligand. In photocatalytic reactions, the UV-absorption peak decreases with time under illumination condition, methylene blue (MB) is completely degraded. The experimental showed the complex 1 was more effective than complex 2. The NMR (1H, 13C and 119Sn) spectroscopies, cyclic voltammetry, thermal stability analysis and PXRD were also investigated.
