Asynchronous tracking of an unknown moving interference for space radio monitoring

2019
This study addresses the problem of geolocating an unknown moving emitter that causes uplink interference on a geostationary satellite. One common geolocation method is to utilize time difference of arrival (TDOA) of three geostationary satellites. However, when there are only two ground monitoring antennas, monitoring the downlink signals of three geostationary satellites simultaneously is not possible. To overcome this problem, we propose an asynchronous tracking method using TDOAs of three geostationary satellites and only two ground antennas.
