The Resource and Conservation on the Rare and Endangered Plants in Limestone Regions in Hainan Island

According to the investigation of the flora and vegetation in limestone regions in Hainan Island, 26 species of rare and endangered plants in 24 genera and 19 families are reported in this paper, among which there are 4 ferns, 3 gymnosperms and 19 angiosperms. The status of 84 species of plants is also evaluated according to the standard of IUCN, they are suggested to be protected by government. Some suggestions of conservation are presented based on the evaluation and analysis on species, distribution, status, endangered reasons of these rare and endangered plants, which will provide a scientific basis for future policy-making.
