Indicios de un glaciar de montera (ice field) en el Alto Gredos (Ávila)

2007
New glacial landforms in the Alto Gredos (Spanish Central Range) confirm that a Pleistocene ice field covered the summit area. The ice field cut the previous surface and left some nunataks emerging from the ice. Erosive and agradative forms related to this ice field phase are poorly preserved due to the erosion by latter glacial and torrential erosion. Therefore, the ice field phase precede the main glacial phases and can be correlated to the ice fields already described in Sierra de Bejar and Sierra del Barco.
