Dimensional Stability of AlSi/SiC+Cg Composites under Heat Loading☆

2016
Abstract Proper selection of reinforcing components allows to designed material properties of composite materials. The thermal stability of the composite materials is often mentioned as one of the advantages of these materials compared to the unreinforced matrix material. One of the demands for materials working in piston-sleeve tribosystem is to retain dimensional stability at elevated temperature. This paper presents the results of dimensional stability of composite rings after heat loading in four cycles of heating and cooling in the temperature range of 20°C to 250°C.
