The Uppsala Code of Ethics for Scientists

2021
The Uppsala Code is the result of a cross-disciplinary effort to respond to the ethical challenges that may rise from the practical uses of research results. In particular, the code takes up the consequences for peace and war, and for the environment. It is argued that researchers have to face these responsibilities and the code gives guidance for how to do this. The Uppsala Code was published in 1984 and remains unique in dealing with ethical consequences of research findings.
