Effect of the sorption of atmospheric gases and vapors on internal friction in thin films

2005
The inelastic processes in thin gold films associated with the sorption of atmospheric gases and vapors were studied. It was demonstrated that physical adsorption and mechanically activated diffusion in pores contribute to internal friction in such films.
