A method and apparatus for synchronizing contact information are disclosed in the embodiments of the present invention. The method comprises: determining a source application and target application to be synchronized according to a contact information synchronization instruction; comparing the contact information in a first contact information group of the source application with the contact information in a second contact information group of the target application; when there is matching contact information in the first contact information group and the second contact information group, synchronizing the contact information in the first contact information group to the second contact information group.
