Design and Performance Analysis of Nano Implantable Optical Antenna

2020
Wireless sensor Network (WSN) consists of communicating sensor devices that have a vast range of applications in medical field using Terahertz frequency in optical range. Antennas which are an integral of nano sensor nodes are capable of enabling communication within the human body. These communicating nodes form wireless body area networks (WBANs). This paper proposes a nano antenna with gallium arsenide as substrate and dimensions of patch 144 nm x 286 nm suited for biomedical applications of health monitoring. The paper aims for improvement in gain and S11 parameter given band gap is incorporated between patch and the feed line. Various other parameters are also analyzed to improve the efficiency of proposed antenna design with slot cut on the ground. The simulation is performed in CST Microwave Studio and depicts the successful use of Terahertz frequency in optical domain.
