CEA has set up and operates various types of installations from research to industry. There are currently 22 facilities which are in the process of being dismantled by CEA. Dealing with these instal- lations is a long-term programme which is carefully planned and financed in order to optimise its management. The stake for dismantling is to show that we manage rigorously the fuel cycle « back end » with dismantling of shutdown nuclear facilities and also retrieval, conditioning of legacy wastes.
