Russian Grain Exports: How to Avoid the Mistakes of the Past

The article examines Russian grain exports, including the history of grain exports in tsarist Russia to which contemporary researchers often refer. The main thesis of the article is that the current volumes at which Russia is exporting grain are achieved at the expense of domestic livestock production, the domestic food market, and the national economy as a whole. Methods for increasing the effectiveness of state regulation and control of the grain market are proposed, including the creation of centralized grain funds.
