Spectral performance analysis of cosh window based new two parameter hybrid windows

2018
Window functions (or briefly windows) are used in many signal processing applications such as spectrum analysis, nonrecursive filter design, speech processing, and image processing. Quality of a window can be determined by performing window spectral analysis. In this paper, the spectral characteristics of new hybrid windows obtained by combining two parameter cosh windows and 20 fixed windows defined in the literature are investigated. Detailed window spectral analyzes of these hybrid windows to determine their performance qualities are performed in comparison with the cosh window at a length of N = 51 in terms of the ripple ratio and mainlobe width. Also a comparative simulation example is given for Kaiser, cosh and these 20 hybrid windows. The simulation results show that 5 hybrid windows provide a better ripple ratio than Kaiser and cosh windows for a fixed mainlobe width, and therefore can exhibit better spectral performance.
